Just a few weeks ago the fifth installment in the “Scream” franchise hit theaters to strong reviews and a respectable $30 million debut domestically. Almost beating the entire domestic haul of ‘Scream 4’ more than ten years ago. As of now the horror flick has earned more than $100 million worldwide. Establishing itself as a strong performer in the franchise’s box office as well as the pandemic box office.
Also establishing a new group or protagonists, including Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barerra, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding. Returning actors included Courtney Cox, Neve Campbell, and David Arquette. the “re-quel” brought the franchise back to the big screen with lots of humor, a solid mystery, and plenty of grizzly Ghostface mayhem.
Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli are set to return as the film’s directors with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busic are also set to return to write the script.
Nothing is known at this time regarding casting or the story. However, production is set to begin this summer.
